1.0  What is this Privacy Policy for?

This sets out how we use and protect personal information that you give us when making a booking online, over the phone or in person.

It is also the privacy policy for our website (www.wavesandwaterfalls.co.uk) governing the privacy of those who choose to use it. The policy sets out the different areas where user privacy is concerned and outlines the obligations and requirements of the users, the website and website owners. Furthermore, the way this website processes, stores and protects user data and information will also be detailed within this policy.

 

2.0  Information we collect about you

2.1  Making a booking

When you make a booking, through our website, on the phone or in person we will ask you to provide personal information about yourself. This could be your name, address and other contact details. The information and the information about your booking(s) is used to arrange your holiday accommodation and any other services you are requesting.

2.2 Filling out forms

We may collect information you provide when you fill out forms on our website. If you contact us, we may keep a record of the correspondence.

2.3  Use and storage of your information.

  • Your booking information is held securely on our third party, GDPR compliant booking system (bookalet.co.uk). The owners of the booking system have security in place to ensure data is kept safe at all times.
  • Information you provide to us and communication between us will not be shared with third parties without your prior consent (for example, we will always seek your consent to use a review or feedback you have given us on our website)
  • Limited information about your booking (name, contact information) may be shared between us and the housekeepers in order to provide a better service, for example at check-in, or to ensure a welcome card is written in your name .
  • If you have booked with us we may periodically send you emails which include offers and updates that we think will be of interest to you – for example to notify you when the next calendar year opens for bookings.
  • We currently accept payment only by bank transfer so we do not store or process credit card details.

 

3.0 Your rights

We will hold your information on our systems for a period that we deem to be commercially viable.

  • You have the right to have all your information deleted from our systems.
  • You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • You have the right to change any incorrect information we hold about you.
  • You have the right to ask us to stop processing information about you.

4.0  Our Website

Our website uses tracking software to monitor its visitors to better understand how they use it. This software is provided by Google Analytics which uses cookies to track visitor usage. The software will save a cookie to your computers hard drive in order to track and monitor your engagement and usage of the website, but will not store, save or collect personal information. 7.0 Links in our website

Our website includes links to relevant web pages – for example of activities in the local area in the “things to see and do” page. These are included in good faith and users are advised to take caution and good judgement before clicking any shortened urls published on our website. Despite the best efforts to ensure only genuine urls are included our website and its owners cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any shortened links.
