Being in a tranquil and beautiful spot, with no near neighbours has its challenges. The cottage is accessed along its own, unmade track which is about 2/3 mile long.  The track has several farm gates along its length which need to be closed behind you – all of which means that you will not be able to get supermarket food deliveries to your door!

The track is shared for most of its length with walkers and is, in places, very narrow (see photos).  You do not need a 4×4, but very large cars (eg Rangerovers, camper vans etc) will only just squeeze through. If you are a nervous driver and/or very proud of your new immaculate new car, please bear this in mind before booking.  No responsibility for any damage to your car will be accepted by us.

The cottage is surrounded by farmland, usually grazed with sheep and cattle.  Dogs are permitted at Hendre Bolon but must be kept under control at all times.  The local farmer may need to access the barns at Hendre Bolon from time to time during your stay to water the livestock etc.
